Yes! But not since I've been writing professionally.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I was working in an industry (classical music) that was terrible at talking about itself with honesty and imagination.

Diversify, as soon as possible!

Why a Jewish classically trained soprano feels odd about getting hired to sing Handel's Messiah every single year.

Anything that resembles, "We're putting on a show! That's a story, right?"
