Register for MEED’s 14-day trial access Saudi gigaproject developer Neom and Saudi Arabia-based DataVolt, a developer, investor and operator of data centres, have signed an agreement to develop a major data centre infrastructure in Oxagon, Neom’s industrial cluster. Funded by an investment of about $5bn, the 1.5GW first phase of the project is expected to be operational by 2028.

Over the past three years, the MEED Mashreq Construction Partnership has examined construction industry pain points such as contract disputes, late payments, adversarial client-contractor relations and technology adoption. The partnership is now looking at waste in the UAE construction industry and at the opportunities and challenges for waste reduction and managing lifecycle costs. As part of the report, MEED is conducting a survey to gather industry insight on construction waste reduction.
