This story was originally published Sept. 1, 2012. We rerun it today with the Lewiston Tribune's 132nd anniversary approaching Sept. 29. This month 150 years ago, Idaho's first newspaper hit the streets of Lewiston and freedom of the press came to the territory with the sound of gunfire. The newspaper was The Golden Age, published by a loyal Unionist, A.S. Gould.

This story originally appeared in Inland 360 in April 2016. Dwayne Clark returned to Lewiston last week to take part in the unveiling of the Bengal Monument at Lewiston High School, which he contributed $50,000 to help construct. Seattle area CEO Dwayne Clark has a rags-to-riches story coming to a theater near you, but it wouldn't be happening if he hadn't been beat up in Lewiston.

This story was originally published in the Tribune on Aug. 27, 2016. The building is now known as the Anne Bollinger Performing Arts Center, is no longer condemned but is instead listed as unsafe and is owned by the city of Lewiston. The Lewiston City Council on Sept. 11 voted to put the building up for auction for an opening bid of $67,000. The building is not yet listed on GovDeals.com. The future is uncertain for the historic building that houses the Lewiston Civic Theatre.
