The Role of Māori Values in Corporate Culture and CSR: A Comparative Study in Aotearoa‐New Zealand's Fishing Industry
1 Introduction The concept of organisational culture has been extensively explored in management literature. While previous studies have delved into the influence of organisational culture on both organisations and employee behaviours, there remains a dearth of research on the impact of Indigenous values on organisational culture. Specifically, whether there are cultural disparities between Māori-owned and non–Māori-owned businesses within Aotearoa-New Zealand remains largely unaddressed.

Everyone was too poor to afford decorations, costumes, and candy for Halloween. For this reason, Halloween was postponed until everyone had enough money. Charlie, a seven-year-old boy, was the biggest Halloween fan ever in Oliverville, and when he heard the news, he started planning a way to bring Halloween back.

A tribute to Chicago's Jason Pickleman (This piece has been cross-posted from Artists on the Lam #6425 front & back, NE. corner of Franklin & Chicago, Thursday morning, 2 September 2021. .) Rest in peace, Jason Pickleman. This is his Dreams of a City postcard he mailed to me in 2021, in response to the prompt I've been giving people since 2008, "Tell me one thing you dream of doing before you die. Use this card as your canvas. When you're finished, mail the card." Jason and I only met twice.

Why *This* Award Really Matters to Us
Blog Why *This* Award Really Matters to Us By Jenny Lam and Hillel Cooperman—July 6, 2021 Industry accolades come and go, but what matters most to us is the feedback we get from customers. We still have a lot of work to do, but we’re very proud that Redwood, Oracle’s next-generation design system, has won a San Francisco Design Week Award for user experience. And while we’re proud of winning this award, we consider ourselves successful only if our customers are successful.
Real-world outcomes of immunotherapy-based regimens in first-line advanced non-small cell lung cancer
Highlights • We assessed real-world survival outcomes for 1 L I-O in patients with advanced NSCLC. • Survival estimates were generally lower than those reported in pivotal trials. • There is room for improvement of outcomes in patients who receive 1 L I-O regimens. • Specific subgroups may have limited treatment benefit from current I-O therapies.
The Role of Primary Care
Abstract and Introduction Abstract Despite recent setbacks, disease-modifying treatments (DMTs) for Alzheimer disease (AD) might become available within a few years. These DMTs are likely to be used in the early stages of AD to avoid the progression to manifest dementia, which implies that a large reservoir of prevalent cases would need to be evaluated when DMTs first become available. Primary care providers (PCPs) would play a vital role in managing the patient flow to specialty care.
Enhanced Oral Bioavailability of 2-(Phosphonomethyl)-pentanedioic Acid (2-PMPA) from its (5-Methyl-2-oxo-1,3-dioxol-4-yl)methyl (ODOL)-Based Prodrugs
2-(Phosphonomethyl)-pentanedioic acid (2-PMPA) is a potent (IC50 = 300 pM) and selective inhibitor of glutamate carboxypeptidase II (GCPII) with efficacy in multiple neurological and psychiatric disease preclinical models and more recently in models of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and cancer. 2-PMPA (1), however, has not been clinically developed due to its poor oral bioavailability (<1%) imparted by its four acidic functionalities (c Log P = −1.14).

The Significance of Chirality in Drug Design and Synthesis of Bitopic Ligands as D3 Receptor (D3R) Selective Agonists
Because of the large degree of homology among dopamine D2-like receptors, discovering ligands capable of discriminating between the D2, D3, and D4 receptor subtypes remains a significant challenge. Previous work has exemplified the use of bitopic ligands as a powerful strategy in achieving subtype selectivity for agonists and antagonists alike.

Former Microsoft Employee Talks About The Day He Was Called Rude By Bill Gates
This is the first chapter of "Tech Leadership from the Trenches" by Hillel Cooperman and Jenny Lam. This particular story is told by Cooperman. There was an almost interminable pause in the conversation, as Bill thought about what I had said. And then he looked up at me after some processing and exclaimed: "That's just rude." In November of 2003 it was my job to get Bill Gates on board with the new designs my team had planned for the Windows user interface.

Radical advice for tech companies: Put the designer in charge
Editor’s note: This post is an excerpt from the book Making Things Special: Tech Leadership from the Trenches A note: We recognize that many of the people reading this book are likely not in charge or in a position to be in charge just yet. However, we know that for up and coming design talent with a penchant for leadership, this is an argument they will need to make.
