In-situ investigation of perovskite solar cells efficiency and stability in mimic stratospheric environment for high-altitude pseudo satellites Perovskite solar cells with high power-per-weight have great potential to be used for aerospace applications such as satellites or high-altitude pseudo-satellites.

We report the laser irradiation of CH NH PbI solar cells to generate and control localized PbI degradation product. We show that by tuning the laser power and illumination time, we can controllably form a local excess of PbI . High-resolution advanced multi-mapping techniques are used to highlight the effect of PbI on the photophysical and photoelectrical properties in a complete perovskite device.

Photovoltaic cells are attracting significant interest for harvesting indoor light for low power consumption wireless electronics such as those required for smart homes and offices, and the rapidly-growing Internet of Things. Here, we explore the potential of solution processable, small molecule photovoltaic cells as indoor power sources.
