Summer heat is back Wednesday Wed, September 9, 2026 at 6:21 AM EDT (WJHL) — After another cool morning, summer heat is back Wednesday afternoon with mainly the upper 80s in the Tri-Cities and upper 70s in the mountains. A cold front will approach the region on Thursday but is likely to stall just north of the Tri-Cities Thursday afternoon. This will limit rain chances initially, while scattered showers and storms will become more centered over the Tri-Cities Friday afternoon and into Saturday.

Some lingering moisture could lead to some spotty mountain showers, but conditions are mainly dry and comfortable in the Tri-Cities. Highs will range from the low to mid 80s in the Tri-Cities, to the upper 60s in the mountains.
