Why Banks Inside Groceries Need Digital Signage
With nearly 4,000 branches located inside grocery and other retail stores in the U.S., banks and credit unions have a unique opportunity to provide customers and members with convenient, on-the-go access to their finances and banking experts to give them valuable advice. Given the consistent flow of consumers, the environment is rich with opportunity to create new relationships and reaffirm existing ones by providing financial services at the point-of-need.
Scout’s Take: BC Vs. Iowa Should Make For An Exciting Pinstripe Bowl
Wednesday December 27th will mark the eighth New Era Pinstripe Bowl and will pit the University of Iowa against Boston College. It is hard to believe that this will be the first ever meeting of these two great programs. The bowl, organized by the New York Yankees and played in the Bronx, is one of only three bowls held in cold weather stadiums without a dome. The others being the Military Bowl in Annapolis MD. and the Idaho Potato Bowl held in Boise, Idaho.
Negron’s Impact: Aaron Boone, Baseball Pedigree and Royalty
In 1973, George Steinbrenner bought the New York Yankees and said that he had a five year plan for the Yankees to become winners. That following season the Boss and Gabe Paul, the first GM of the Steinbrenner era, made a series of trades to help to move the plan along to make the Yankees better. One of the trades got the Yankees left handed pitcher Rudy May and a very good second baseman by the name of Sandy Alomar. Sandy wasn’t the greatest second baseman of all time but he was very solid.
Karpin: Aaron Needs A “Don”
Joe Torre had a “Don,” Andy Griffith had a “Don,” Michael Corleone had a “Don” and Aaron Boone is going to need a “Don.” The Yankees went way out on a limb with the hiring of their former player to be their next manager. Boone’s only experience in the dugout has been as a player.
Steve Spagnuolo To Take Over For Ben McAdoo As Giants Coach For Rest Of The Season
After Ben McAdoo’s firing, defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo may only be at the Meadowlands for the next month, but he will do so as head coach, according to multiple reports. Taking over for McAdoo, Spagnuolo was the logical choice, since he had head coaching experience with the Rams from 2009-2011, when he amassed an 10-38 record during the three seasons, after he was the defensive coordinator for the 2007 Giants that won the Super Bowl.
Jerry Reese and Ben McAdoo Have Been Fired By The Giants
The ax dropped in East Rutherford today as both general manger Jerry Reese and coach Ben McAdoo were both relieved of duties with four games left in the season. Owner John Mara informed both men this morning as the Giants prepare to play Dallas this weekend at MetLife Stadium. It’s a quick fall from grace for both as they entered the year as Super Bowl contenders, but all of a sudden, things went south.
Joan Tisch, matriarch of Tisch family, passes away at 90
Joan H. Tisch, the matriarch of the Tisch Family who owns 50 percent of the Giants, passed away Thursday morning at the age of 90. Mrs. Tisch was the widow of Bob Tisch, who bought the stake in the Giants in 1991. Her three children all work within the organization as Steve serves as the Giants' chairman and executive vice president while Laurie and Jonathan are treasurers. "Joan Tisch was a great lady who led an extraordinary life that touched so many people," Giants co-owner John Mara said.
Giants insist Ben McAdoo has not lost control of locker room
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Giants players made it clear on Wednesday that none of their recent controversies were a sign that Ben McAdoo had lost their locker room. It's nothing personal, they insisted. They don't hate him, they said. In fact, they swear they respect him. Maybe that's true. But they sure do have a funny way of showing it.
Giants suspend CB Janoris Jenkins indefinitely due to violation of team rules
The Giant have suspended CB Janoris Jenkins indefinitely due to a violation of team rules, the team announced Tuesday. Jenkins will miss Sunday's game against the Rams, and the team will review the situation next week. "As a member of this team, there are standards and we have responsibilities and obligations," coach Ben McAdoo said in a press release. "When we don't fulfill those obligations, there are consequences. As I have said before, we do not like to handle our team discipline publicly.
Rodgers-Cromartie, Vereen should be names Giants consider trading
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - NFL trades are rare to begin with, especially in the middle of the season. The Giants have only done it once in the Jerry Reese era, when they acquired injury-prone linebacker Jon Beason from the Carolina Panthers back in 2013. So with the trade deadline set for 4 p.m. on Tuesday, don't expect the Giants to be in on the action. But they should be, especially with the few marketable veterans they have in the midst of a 1-6 season that is already lost.

Ralph Vacchiano | Facebook | Twitter | Archive EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Two years ago, as Tom Coughlin was being nudged out the door, Giants co-owner John Mara put his general manager on notice. Jerry Reese, he said, "can't hide from the record." And he insisted Reese knew the Giants' future was "on him." Two years later, Reese barely had time to bask in the glow of the Giants' first playoff berth in five seasons before the team he rebuilt collapsed into a 1-6 mess.

Unpacking Jerry Reese's State of the Giants address
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Jerry Reese's press conference on Tuesday was his first in 89 days. If form holds, it'll be 69 more days before he speaks again, if he gets the chance to speak after the season at all. That leaves a lot to unpack from the 21 minutes he stood at the podium -- the only time he'll spend explaining the state of the franchise to his paying customers in a more-than-five-month span.
Amid 1-6 start, Jerry Reese knows he is on notice
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. And yes, he knows he can't hide from that record either.
Jerry Reese, Giants not ready to turn to Davis Webb right now
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Jerry Reese cracked the door open a bit for the Giants to sit quarterback Eli Manning take a look at rookie Davis Webb "at some point" this season. But he also made it clear that the Giants, despite being a dismal 1-6, are nowhere near that point now. "At some point, but when is that some point?" Reese said.
