LACLEDE COUNTY, Mo. — A 14-year-old angler from Grovespring has set a new Missouri state record after reeling in a river redhorse sucker on the Osage Fork of the Gasconade River. The Missouri Department of Conservation announced that Memphis Nelson caught the state-record fish during the early evening hours of May 16 while fishing in Laclede County. The fish weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces, measured 28.5 inches long, and had a 17-inch girth. Nelson caught the fish using a pole and line.
