Roof caves in at Springfield restaurant after heavy rain Original

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Krackin Cajun Seafood House in Springfield is temporarily closed after sustaining roof damage during heavy rainfall Monday morning. The restaurant, located on South Campbell Avenue in the Kickapoo Corners Shopping Center, was surrounded by caution tape and temporary fencing as crews worked the scene. No injuries have been reported. A “Do Not Occupy” sign has also been posted at the business.

Kirkwood Park submerged in Springfield after heavy rainfall

Kirkwood Park | Seminole St. & Glendale Ave. in Springfield SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The park near Seminole Street and Glendale Avenue in south Springfield is flooded after heavy rain hit the Springfield area Monday morning. Video taken by Ozarks First shows water over the road along Glendale Avenue, and several inches of standing water across the park. 14-year-old catches Missouri state record fish

LACLEDE COUNTY, Mo. — A 14-year-old angler from Grovespring has set a new Missouri state record after reeling in a river redhorse sucker on the Osage Fork of the Gasconade River. The Missouri Department of Conservation announced that Memphis Nelson caught the state-record fish during the early evening hours of May 16 while fishing in Laclede County. The fish weighed 10 pounds, 3 ounces, measured 28.5 inches long, and had a 17-inch girth. Nelson caught the fish using a pole and line.
