53% of people from ethnic minority communities have felt judged by their name

Research reveals the extent to which adults from diverse ethnic communities experience bias in social or workplace settings, simply because of their name. Spotlighting an underbelly of prejudice in the UK, which is fuelling ‘name bias’, nearly half (48%) of 500 minority respondents felt they’d been treated differently based on their name. The study, conducted by Samsung UK & Ireland and OnePoll, surveyed a diverse sample of 2,000 white and minority UK adults.

Q. Employee engagement has been defined in many different ways. How do you define it? Very often, the definitions of employee engagement sound more like definitions for ‘organizational commitment’ or ‘job satisfaction’. Engagement is not those things. The best definition comes from the first major study on the topic by William Kahn at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. The paper came out in 1990, but it wasn't until the 2000s that people started to pay attention to it.
