Methods: We analyzed 360,548 UK Biobank participants, including 169,241 individuals with MASLD, 146,559 with no steatotic liver disease (SLD), and 44,748 with MASLD and increased alcohol intake (MetALD).
The Urban Pulse: Diagnosing the urbanization process as spiky, cyclical, and asynchronous
The Urban Pulse: Diagnosing the urbanization process as spiky, cyclical, and asynchronous Contributed by Karen C. Seto; received December 26, 2025; accepted April 29, 2026; reviewed by Christopher Small and Emily Talen Significance Urbanization is traditionally measured as a static outcome. Here we propose the concept of Urban Pulse to capture urbanization as a dynamic process.
HER2-targeted doxorubicin-loaded cell-derived extracellular vesicles induce apoptosis of breast cancer cells via ROS/TXNIP pathway activation
Background Systemic toxicity and limited tumor selectivity remain major obstacles in HER2-positive breast cancer therapy with conventional chemotherapeutics. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) provide a promising delivery platform due to their intrinsic biocompatibility and intercellular communication. Here, we engineered EVs displaying the HER2-binding peptide P51 to create a peptide-mediated targeted delivery system for doxorubicin (Dox), aiming to enhance tumor specificity and apoptotic efficacy.

Neural control of anticipatory braking and lateral balance predicts fall risk in older adults: BMI-dependent mechanisms
Introduction Falls are a critical public health challenge in aging populations. Approximately one-third of community-dwelling adults aged 65 or older experience at least one fall annually. Beyond physical injuries, falls often lead to functional decline, institutionalization, and mortality (Montero-Odasso et al., 2022; Beck Jepsen et al., 2022). Understanding the complex mechanisms that contribute to fall risk is essential for developing targeted interventions.

Higher objective responses by hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy following atezolizumab and bevacizumab failure than when used as initial therapy in hepatocellular carcinoma: a retrospective study | Abdominal Radiology
Abstract Atezolizumab/bevacizumab (atezo-bev) is the first-line chemotherapy for patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) can be used as an alternative. Our aim was to compare the prognosis of HAIC treatment between newly diagnosed patients and patients treated after failure of atezo-bev. We retrospectively assessed 73 patients with HCC treated with HAIC between January 2022 and September 2023.
Time-lapse imaging of morula compaction for selecting high‐quality blastocysts: a retrospective cohort study - Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics
Abstract Before blastocyst development, embryos undergo morphological and metabolic changes crucial for their subsequent growth.
