1 Introduction In recent years, silicon-based photovoltaic (PV) solar cells have widely been applied as a green energy source in the world, leading to the large-scale production and deployment of solar cells [1, 2]. However, given the typical service life of 20–30 years for solar cell panels, it is estimated that by 2030, ≈80 million metric tons of PV modules will be required for recycling globally, and this amount is projected to be increased tenfold by 2025 [3, 4].
