Construction of Multi-Structure Models and Radiation Shielding Property Prediction of Complex Multi-Interface Composite Materials
1 Introduction With the rapid development of nuclear science and technology, the various radiation environments faced by humans have become increasingly complex, and radiation protection safety has garnered growing attention [1-3]. Therefore, the development of high-efficiency, eco-friendly, and flexible radiation shielding materials has become an urgent demand [4-8].
Titanate Coupling Agent Modified Flower-Shaped Bi 2 O 3 for Enhancing X-Ray Shielding and Thermal Insulation of Foams
1 Introduction Nuclear energy is widely used in nuclear power plants, medical, and military applications. However, high-energy photons (x/γ-rays) can seriously damage health. It is therefore imperative that individuals engaged in professional activities within nuclear environments are equipped with radiation protection products (RPP) [1]. Traditional RPPs are primarily lead aprons.

Evaluating Airborne Condensable Particulate Matter Measurement Methods in Typical Stationary Sources in China
The dry impinger method, the indirect dilution method, and the direct dilution method can be used to measure the condensable particulate matter (CPM) emissions. We tested these methods in determining the CPM emissions from typical stationary sources in China and found that the CPM concentrations measured by the dry impinger method are much higher than those measured by the two dilution methods regardless of the type of stationary source.
Porous poly(vinyl formal) foam prepared using a low degree of polymerization poly(vinyl alcohol)
Poly(vinyl formal) (PVF) foams are usually prepared using high degree of polymerization poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), the most reported degree of polymerization are 1700. In this paper, low degree of polymerization PVA of 500 was used to prepare PVF foams, which is a great challenge because of the weaker hydrogen bond interaction than that of high degree’s. By changing the concentration (from 10% to 20%) of PVA solution, PVF foams were successfully obtained.
