HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — As the first Total Solar Eclipse to affect Texas since July of 1878 gets closer, the chances of a cloudy to mostly cloudy day continue to be a like scenario for a large part of the state — including the Rio Grande Valley. While we are not expecting any rainfall, the clouds are looking to be quite stubborn Monday morning, April 8, through the afternoon. Some areas of Texas further north could see rain and even some strong to severe storms.
