Potential Tropical Cyclone One has formed in the Atlantic. Winds are near 25 mph with higher gusts. P.T.C One is currently forecasted to move over the Western Gulf later tonight and has a small chance of strengthening into a tropical storm briefly before making landfall in near the Texas/Louisiana coastline Wednesday night. The system may strengthen into a named storm within the next 48 hours.

The intense heat will take a break early this week behind a cold front moving through early Monday. Highs Monday afternoon will peak around 90° with the heat index reaching 95°. Just a stray coastal shower is possible. Less heat; Isolated showers Tuesday will bring plenty of clouds, but just a 30% chance of a shower. The clouds will help cap the highs in the mid 80s.

Temps will start to crank up on Wednesday with the mercury peaking near 90° under mostly cloudy skies with a southwest wind bringing increasing humidity levels. Intense heat building in late week High temperatures will jump into the mid to a few upper 90s Thursday and Friday under partly cloudy skies. Increasing humidity levels will drive the heat index to around 100° Thursday and near 105° Friday. Both Thursday and Friday will be a First Alert Weather Days for the intense heat across eastern NC.
