MARINETTE — Marinette County officials used the latest Public Services Committee Meeting on Tuesday to push back on growing public concern over the county’s use of Flock license plate reader (LPR) cameras. Sheriff Randy Miller told committee members the county operates five fixed Flock cameras all on major highways and that the cameras automatically photograph the rear of vehicles and read plates as they pass.

MARINETTE — Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley says his decision to briefly suspend, then quickly restart his campaign for governor came down to bad data and rising stakes for Wisconsin’s future. In a recent interview, Crowley said his team halted the campaign after internal information suggested that he had no viable path to victory. That changed, he said, when new facts emerged and the lieutenant governor (Sara Rodriguez) exited the race.

MARINETTE — The Marinette School Board voted Monday night to move forward with a $68 million referendum for upgrades to the middle school and high school — as it faced criticism over cuts to middle school teaching positions — especially sixth grade social studies.
