The final day of the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026 features 15 gold medal events across track cycling & Para track cycling, judo, bowls & Para bowls, and netball all tied up with a neat bow with the Closing Ceremony. Six gold medals will be decided at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome to bring the cycling programme to a close. Paris 2024 medallists abound with the likes of Emma Finucane (Wales), Ellesse Andrews of New Zealand and England's Sophie Capewell taking to the track in the women's keirin.

Emma Finucane is no stranger to success but even the seven-time World and three-time Olympic track cycling medallist thoroughly enjoyed one particular moment on the podium at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games on Thursday (30 July). That was stepping on the top of the women's team sprint podium alongside teammates Rhian Edmunds and Lowri Thomas in Glasgow's iconic Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, in front of the Scottish legend himself, to sing the Welsh anthem.

Eleven days of sporting action comes to a close at the 2026 Commonwealth Games courtesy of the closing ceremony at the iconic Hydro arena in Glasgow on Sunday 2 August. A celebration of athlete performances first and foremost, the event also serves as a thank you to the many volunteers and showcases the hosts for a final time featuring performances by community groups and cultural organisations.
