When Valcour Records was founded in 2006, the Acadiana music scene felt charged with a youthful energy. Bands like the Pine Leaf Boys were introducing a new generation of Lafayette students to traditional Cajun and Creole sounds, paving the way for acts like Boma Bango, Jourdan Thibodeaux et Les Rôdailleurs and T'Monde to emerge onto the scene with high-energy, contemporary versions of the south Louisiana playbook.
