Iran is run by a theocracy. They are religious zealots. So why is it important to make sure they never have nuclear weapons? In June 1945, the atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima killed an estimated 70,000 people immediately. Another 70,000 died before the end of the year. If Iran has a nuclear weapon, they can and will, at a minimum, control the Strait of Hormuz, disrupting oil production worldwide, and at worst use the bomb against another country.

The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels will soon make their way to Lake Charles as the headliner of an air show in the area. The Thunder Over Louisiana Air Show Presented by KIA of Lake Charles will take place from Aug. 29 and 30 at the Chennault International Airport with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels headlining. “The Blue Angels are the most sought-after performing act on the plane,” sais Herb Gillen, the airshow’s president, in a news release announcing the event.

“Dancing Through the Decades” was the theme for Saturday’s annual Dancing for the Cause fundraiser for the ARC of East Ascension.
