I'm a native New Yorker but have lived in Philly for nearly 30 years. I've watched as the city has changed and grown and that's triggered a latent interest in urban planning. (Growing up, my brother and I were dragged across every bridge in the NYC area as my father told endless stories about the Empire State and Chrysler buildings, etc. My brother became an architect.) 2018 - best business story, runner up excellence in reporting

First award was for a trade magazine story (Planning Magazine from the Amer Planning Assn) in the late 1990s about how immigrants were changing one small city in New Jersey. 2018 award was for a story in the Penn Gazette (Univ of Penn) on how the historical preservation department at the School of Design is working in Rwanda on preserving "negative history"
