Five and a half years ago, Lydia Walters sold her car as she prepared to move to Chicago, banking on finding an apartment close to public transit. She now lives a two-minute walk from the CTA Brown Line in Ravenswood, taking a 45-minute train ride to her job in the Loop. “It’s important for me, every time I look for a new apartment, that it's accessible to me for whatever line I use for work,” the 29-year-old says.
