Country Music Takeover: Why is it becoming more mainstream?, by RedHawk Radio Writers
More and more non-country artists are entering the country music scene. The music scene has become the Wild West. No artist’s niche genre, whether pop, R&B, or indie, is safe from the infringement of the country music takeover that is upon the music industry. With the diminishing of the phrases, “Oh, I listen to all genres of music besides country music,” out on the horizon, you might be asking yourself: why is country music becoming more mainstream? At RedHawk Radio, we are here to provide answers.
WYNN - Country Music Memory Lane - Mark Chesnutt
Chad asked me this week about his favorite growing up, Mark Chesnutt. He was a favorite of mine too. Were they the product of the others gigantic success? OR would they have led the charge in a different time?

Conservation Field Day
It's been my observation that interest among farmers has been growing when it comes to conservation practices. That has been evident at a series of farm field days this month that have highlighted what area farmers have been doing to improve soil health. Programs like the Fox Demo project and work of the Peninsula Pride Farms and even area forage councils have been building awareness of what is being done with such things as cover crops, no till and interseeding of crops.
Planting Fall Cover Crops
Thanks to the work of the agencies involved in the Fox Demo Farms Project and the cooperators who have made soil health a top priority for their farm, the interest in cover crops has grown in Northeastern Wisconsin. Today we hear about options and benefits of planting cover crops this fall. Â

Valentine's Day In October
Valentines's Day is celebrated in February! Every February 14th we support Hallmark & Hershey's & florists nationwide. There's a day that's very similar to the annual winter day for romancing...it's Sweetest Day. It's recognized the third Saturday in October. Therefore, every year it's a different date. This holiday is quite young. In 1921, a man named Herbert Birch Kingston distributed candy to the orphans and homeless around Cleveland, Ohio.
Wisconsin Man Almost Drives Into Tornado (NSFW- Language)
A 40mph torndado hit the East side of Madison on Saturday evening shocking everyone (including this driver) An October tornado is very rare so no one expected this line of storms to develop one. Smoked Beef Stew
What elevates ordinary beef stew to extraordinary? Add some glorious wood smoke! Here's a beef stew with smoked beef. Get your smoker up to temp, around 240°. Cube the beef into about 1 inch cubes. Place in a foil pan in a single layer, and pour in just enough beer for the bottom half of the meat to sit in it. Season the top layer with salt and pepper. Smoke on full smoke for 1 1/2 hours. In the meantime, add the other ingredients to a slow cooker with whatever beef stew seasonings you like to use.
Cider Roasted Pulled Pork
This month we've been featuring some great recipes with beer in honor of the Northeast Wisconsin Craft Beer Festival coming October 7th. While I typically prefer to smoke pork butts for pulled pork, this is a great recipe for making it in the crock pot. Apple and pork are naturally delicious together, so I decided to roast the pork in an Irish cider. The recipe is simple. Put it in the crock pot before leaving for work and you'll have delicious pork for dinner.
Chocolate Beer Cupcakes
This month, I'm incorporating BEER into some of my recipes in honor of the Northeast Wisconsin Craft Beer Festival , presented by Festival Foods, October 7th. The recipe I borrowed this from calls for an Irish Stout, like Guinness, but I used a local craft brew instead. To round out the cupcakes, I'm giving a nod to all things Irish! It may not have Guinness, but I'm using Jameson Irish Whiskey and some Bailey's Irish Creme.

Smoked Meat Loaf
This week is a good reminder that pretty much anything you can make in the oven, you can make in the smoker... And add that delicious wood smoke flavor. This weekend I was in the mood for meatloaf. The recipe here is not my usual meatloaf, but it was very tasty. Meatloaf can get to go if you over mix it, so I like to mix all the other ingredients together first, then fold it into the meat. When done form it into a loaf.

Bourbon Cherry Smoked Pork Tenderloin
I love smoking pork tenderloin. It's fast cooking, and it takes on other flavors well. Here is a great version with some Door County Cherries. Start with the pork tenderloin. Rinse it with cold water and towel it dry. Then, rub it all over with yellow mustard and sprinkle liberally with your favorite rub. Â Here's mine . Set your smoker up for 230. And make sure your water reservoir is full. Smoke the pork on full smoke for about 2 hours until the internal temperature reaches 145.
