Have you ever used a typewriter?
OMG yes. In my early career, we used manual typewriters.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
"Journalist" has become a near-meaningless term. . "Journalism" still has meaning, though.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I work at William & Mary, so I have several sheets of foolscap and a couple of quill pens.
What's your favorite social network?
Again, it's William & Mary, so we put on our powdered wigs and go down to the Raleigh Tavern and sneer at Jefferson.
Who do you wish followed you?
Wishes are for people who find lamps on the beach.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
That's a tough one. I guess I would have to say that I have never been completely satisfied with anything I've written.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Easy reading comes from hard writing.
