Sports Fodder: The most interesting and likely most entertaining home game at Mackay Stadium on this season's Nevada Wolf Pack football schedule? That's easy. And it's not even close. Montana State. Stop laughing. If you can only find time to go to one football game at Mackay Stadium this fall, do yourself a favor and go watch the Bobcats and Wolf Pack on Sept. 12. Yes, we get it. The thought of Montana State at Mackay Stadium used to put Northern Nevada to sleep.

Sports Fodder: The Nevada Wolf Pack football team is missing the point. The Pack is not only beside the point, it isn’t in the same zip code as anything even resembling a point. It not only doesn't get straight to the point, it tends to avoid the subject completely. The bottom line is that the Wolf Pack, winners of 10 games over the last four pointless combined seasons, is rapidly approaching its boiling point.

Sports Fodder: Is Jeff Choate's job on the line this season? The Nevada Wolf Pack's energetic and confident, but not all that successful, head football coach will bring a 6-19 record over the past two seasons into the 2026 season. He's also lost 13-of-15 Mountain West games, which, technically, is an improvement over the 2-14 league record Ken Wilson put together in 2022 and 2023 before he was fired.
