A man has pleaded guilty to the murder of hip-hop legend Jam Master Jay following his death in 2002. The Run-DMC member died on October 30th, 2002, at the age of 37 after being shot at his recording studio in Queens, New York. According to The Guardian, 52-year-old Jay Bryant pleaded guilty to his role in the killing of the musician on April 27th. Bryant told the judge that he helped people get into a recording studio to ambush the DJ.

The 41-year-old grime rapper (real name Justin Clarke-Samuel) pleaded guilty in December to killing 20-year-old Yubin Tamang. He also admitted to a second charge of dangerous driving, while facing two further charges of driving while over the legal alcohol limit and dangerous driving. According to Sky News, the judge sentenced him to 12 years behind bars on March 3rd.

Florida rapper Lil Poppa has died at 25. The Jacksonville artist (real name Janarious Wheeler) reportedly died in Georgia on February 18th. According to TMZ, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that he was pronounced dead at 11:23am. However, the cause of death wasn’t confirmed. Rappers and music industry figures took to social media to pay tribute to Poppa following his death. Great Day Records CEO Caroline ‘Baroline’ Diaz wrote on X, “My little brother is gone.
