A different world sprung to rich, vibrant life in Canby throughout June – a Scottish Vale that opened the doors to whimsy and joy for those who visited. Over each and every weekend in June, the Oregon Renaissance Faire took up residence at the fairgrounds in Canby, transporting visitors to the Vale of Dunrose and a village that offered plenty to see, hear, and feel – even when the rains fell.

Canby softball snags host of NWOC all-league awards - Woodburn Independent

Canby High’s run to the state 5A softball semifinals was indicative of a team with a lot of contributing parts. And the post-season awards would seem to confirm it. The Cougars, the NWOC champions, snagged five first-team all-league mentions, and had nine all-leaguers overall for a team that went 15-1 in league play (22-8 overall) and reached the Class 5A semifinals, where they lost in a heartbreaker to rival Wilsonville.
