UK PM "not considering" public inquiry into Epstein's UK activities

(Alliance News) - UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham is not actively considering a public inquiry into the UK actions of paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein despite claims the government was "looking into" holding one, it is understood. Victims minister Alex Davies-Jones suggested on Tuesday night that an inquiry was a possibility, adding the prime minister had agreed to meet Epstein's victims and was "taking this very seriously".

Laura Dern pays tribute to 'dream leading man' Sam Neill

Sam Neill's Jurassic Park co-star Laura Dern has paid tribute to the actor after his death aged 78, calling him a “true and noble gentleman, wrapped up in my dream leading man”. The Northern Ireland-born New Zealand actor, best known for playing Dr Alan Grant in the blockbuster franchise, died in Sydney, Australia, on Monday. A flood of tributes have poured in for the actor, led by his Jurassic Park co-stars including Dern, who played paleobotanist, Ellie Sattler, and Jeff Goldblum.

Police reveal unseen photos 25 years after British backpacker murder

Australian police have released new images to mark the 25th anniversary of British backpacker Peter Falconio's murder, hoping to find his remains. Mr Falconio, 28, was murdered and his girlfriend Joanne Lees assaulted by Bradley John Murdoch on a remote Australian highway on 14 July 2001. Murdoch was convicted in 2005 and sentenced to life imprisonment, but died in prison in 2025 without revealing the location of Mr Falconio's body.
