Meet the adorable BYU freshman in a skin-tight Spider-Man suit who nailed a $3 million kick
College football fans often showcase how they feel more comfortable and involved than in any other. Raucous crowds rush the field after a surprise victory — to be sure, this happens in college basketball too — while others stand behind the studio analysts during ESPN’s College Gameday, the weekly pregame show on the network.
College football players love showing off their bulges. The NCAA clearly does too.
The NCAA loves watching young men run around a football field wearing the tightest shorts, their bulges taking center stage. They don’t want to admit it. But there really isn’t much of another explanation. And the NCAA loooooooves when they are wearing clothes that are as short and tight as possible. On national TV, players for Notre Dame and BYU complied. These players widely ignored NCAA rules and wore the tightest of tight pants, refusing to protect their knees with pads.
The Texas Rangers just did the bare minimum for LGBTQ inclusion. And that’s big news.
Yesterday, pro teams throughout the sports world posted messages on social media in honor of Spirit Day, GLAAD’s annual day of observance dedicated to spreading anti-bullying messages and supporting LGBTQ youth. The Minnesota Vikings, for example, wrote an uplifting post as part of their LGBTQ outreach efforts that included sponsoring last week’s Gay Bowl XXVI.
Notre Dame vs. BYU is a big football showdown. Their LGBTQ records aren’t nearly as close.
The No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish play the No. 8 BYU Cougars in football in one of the biggest matchups of the week, if not the season. On the field, they are two of the best football teams of any religious college or university — and any school in the country. They are two of the only nine undefeated FBS teams left. Off the field, how do these two religious schools treat LGBTQ athletes, and how do they measure up on gay, bi and trans acceptance?
Hockey players pose with teammates as the ‘big catch’ in adorable social media meme
They pose as if they’ve caught the big one while fishing. Sometimes the fish tries to wriggle away. The “fish” in this case are the teammates of hockey players, participating in a meme that has spread on social media this year. The trend of hockey teams posing with a teammate (often freshmen or new players) as if they’ve caught a giant fish is specific to college, clubs and amateur hockey teams and seems to have sprung from nowhere.
Dodgers and Brewers played cringe-worthy defense in an NLCS ‘Inner Saboteur’ game
Welcome back to Talkin’ Gaysball where it’s just nice to be talking about baseball players sabotaging something other than Giants Pride Night… It’s an October baseball truism that in order to go all the way, a team has to learn how to absorb a gut punch and figure out how to win anyway. Sometimes you lose to the Yankees 19-8 and find yourself trailing three games to none in a best of seven series.
Why Waiting Can Be Part of the Fun in Gaming
1 A loading bar should not be dead air. In good games, waiting gives the brain a small stage to guess, plan, and hope. A chest takes eight hours to open. A raid boss spawns at 9 p.m. A roulette wheel slows one tick at a time. That pause has shape. It also gives risk room to breathe. A casino review notes players love SpinEmpire for fair terms, partly because clear rules make a delay feel earned rather than sneaky. The same pattern appears outside casinos too.
High school wrestler takes fight over trans athletes to U.S. Supreme Court
A high school wrestler in Washington state who sued the Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association over trans-inclusive policy filed an emergency application with the U.S. Supreme Court to block WIAA policy that allows trans student-athletes to compete within the category of the gender with which they identify. The emergency application was filed by the athlete’s mother, Stephanie Brown, and it contends that the current state policy is discriminatory and violates Title IX.
NFL players are dressing ‘gayer,’ and Aidan Hutchinson’s sweater vest is exhibit A
When quarterback Cam Newton started showing up to Carolina Panthers games dressed to the nines well over a decade ago, it was a revelation. That pink suit with the green fedora for a post-game press conference is etched in the minds of many. Little did we know he was setting a trend with today’s NFL players taking it to another level. Enter Detroit Lions DE Aidan Hutchinson. He and the Lions played against the Panthers in Charlotte on Sunday Night Football. The Panthers got a win, 32-26.
Bears fans dressed as Mike Ditka and Ben Johnson kiss — then reveal they’re engaged
The Chicago Bears don’t have a rich history of winning as of late. Only seven playoff appearances in the 21st century and a single Super Bowl win overall make the NFC North team one of the perennial disappointments in the NFL. With the Bears succeeding in a new era headed by Caleb Williams and Ben Johnson, the fans are riding high and having a lot more fun than usual with their team. They’re even making gay fantasy relationships a reality in the stands. What? You heard that right.
SF Giants season is over. They’re still dropping the ball on Pride Night.
Even though they no longer have any games to play, the 2026 San Francisco Giants aren’t done disgracing themselves. Following the conclusion of a wretched 97-loss campaign, Giants President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey and Manager Tony Vitello held an end of season press conference where they offered the usual bromides about all that had gone wrong on the field.
Tom Brady’s Michigan teammates thought he was gay. Then they heard noises from his bedroom.
NFL superstar Tom Brady is one of the ultimate symbols of the good-old-fashioned straight American man. Brady was married to supermodel Gisele Bündchen for 13 years and previously had a child with actress Bridget Moynahan in 2007. But we also know that Brady’s biggest love is arguably not another person, but quite possibly the game of football.
Caleb Williams cried after a scary injury. Football’s manosphere attacked his painted nails.
Every football fan in Chicago held their collective breath on Sunday when Bears quarterback Caleb Williams crumpled to the ground in mid-run after suffering what looked like a major leg injury in an NFL game. Eventually, the Bears medical staff carted their franchise quarterback off the field with a towel draped around his head as Williams gave vent to his emotions. When he gestured to a cheering Soldier Field crowd, everyone could see that he had been crying.
Out baseball star throws historic shutout as LA Queens win first WPBL title
Seven weeks ago, the Los Angeles Queens opened the inaugural season of the Women’s Professional Baseball League by winning the first game in league history. Tuesday night, the LA Queens closed the first WPBL season as its first champion, winning the league’s final game of the season. Riding an historic performance from out Japanese baseball legend Ayami Sato, the Queens downed the San Francisco Firebells, 2-0, in the fifth and deciding game of the WPBL Championship Series.
‘Looks like a lesbian.’ Florida State punter laughs along with a meme about his appearance.
College football Saturdays can be a lot. There are so many teams to watch that sometimes people-watching can be more interesting than the actual game. Someone viewing the Florida State versus Alabama game this weekend noticed the Seminoles’ punter, Daniel Hughes, and poked fun at his blonde haircut. This Florida State punter looks like a lesbian that breeds poodles.
Orville Peck says he made out with a Raiders player. We have a pretty good guess who.
Orville Peck is one of the rare country music artists who isn’t afraid to talk about his sexuality and his personal life with his fans. In an overly straight genre, Peck brings a taste of the rainbow. Now, he’s having some fun involving the NFL, as he claims he kissed a player on the Las Vegas Raiders one time. The song “Ring the Bell” from his new album, “Mule”, explicitly states the interaction.
BYU quarterback eats family dinners where no one wears clothes
Bear naked? That appears to be the case, according to an unusual anecdote from last week’s BYU football telecast. Late in last week’s Arizona-BYU game on Fox, the cameras showed the mom of BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier sitting in the stands, which prompted this exchange between play-by-play announcer Connor Onion and analyst Robert Griffin III, the former NFL quarterback.
He scattered his gay friend’s ashes in the ocean. It inspired a film about AIDS, surfing and love.
As a former athlete, Alex Carig sees the HIV/AIDS epidemic through the lens of surfing. “If you’re out there in the water and it’s just kind of flat, you know your waves aren’t happening,” Carig, director of the film “A Long Road to Tao,” told Outsports. “You become complacent, and sometimes you really forget how dangerous the ocean can get.” This parallel between HIV/AIDS and surfing reflects a major theme of his movie.
Trans athletes can’t afford to wait. We need a third category now.
If we wait for politicians, courts or governing bodies to save transgender athletes, an entire generation of trans kids will grow up without sports. We do not have the luxury of patience. You can tell me there aren’t enough trans athletes to justify a separate category. But if roughly one in 200 people is transgender, shouldn’t there be one of us for every 200 athletes? There aren’t. That should tell us something. I know we’re underrepresented because I’ve seen it everywhere.
50 years ago, Pitt won it all. I never knew one of its football players was gay like me.
Growing up in Pittsburgh in the 1970s, there was no such thing to me as losing. The Pirates won the World Series in 1971 and again in 1979. The Steelers won four Super Bowls before the decade was out. And in 1976, the Pitt Panthers went 12-0 and won the national championship behind Tony Dorsett, who capped the season by winning the Heisman Trophy. If you were a kid like me who loved sports in Pittsburgh back then, you were spoiled rotten.
Gay pop star stunned when two former pro athletes said yes to ‘raunchy’ new video
The debut track ‘Can’t Wait’ by Australian pop star ANDY has been released, along with a video featuring former AFL player Mitch Brown and rugby league legend Ian Roberts. The video depicts ANDY, whose full name is Andy Cook, as a younger man (played by Tiggy Treloar) exploring his sexuality within a contact sports locker-room setting. It concludes with Brown and ANDY, who are playing the captains of opposing teams, locking lips.
Arch Manning and reporters laughed. That tells us a lot about life for gay athletes.
Arch Manning had no idea that what he was saying was a problem. The Texas Longhorns quarterback now infamously joked at a press conference this week about a crude AI video showing his coach, Steve Sarkisian, slapping ESPN reporter Holly Rowe in the face. I know. Crazy. “I’ve seen a few AI edits of stuff, but that’s about it. I saw an AI edit of Sark’s interview,” Manning said of his coach’s contractually obligated post-game non-interview. “Have you all seen that one? That’s a good one.
LGBTQ stars take center stage in first Women’s Pro Baseball championship
The inaugural campaign of the Women’s Professional Baseball League started its finale Wednesday night in Springfield, Illinois as the first WPBL Championship Series got underway. The best-of-five series pits the number-one seed San Francisco Firebells against the surging Los Angeles Queens, and both teams can credit notable out LGBTQ athletes for arriving on the precipice of baseball history. The Queens took game one on Wednesday, 7-6.
2 out gay men’s pro tennis players meet in historic match. ‘We can be role models.’
Sunday was a historic — and emotional — day for queer tennis fans. For the first time in men’s tennis history, two openly gay players faced each other in a professional match. Swiss player Mika Brunold defeated Brazil’s João Lucas Reis da Silva 6-4, 6-3 in the final of the ATP 100 Challenger in Tulln, Austria, winning the biggest title of his career. Reis da Silva, 26, made history in December 2024 when he became the first active male professional tennis player to publicly come out as gay.
New pic from gay tennis movie ‘Forty Love’ has fans debating its player lookalikes
A second official image from the upcoming movie “Forty Love” has just been released, sparking debate over which real-life tennis stars the two lead characters resemble. The movie marks the feature film directing debut of fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, who also co-wrote the script alongside Gaëlle Macé. In the film, actor Paul Kircher stars as Sacha Gallo, a 21-year-old rising star who has been coached by his father since childhood.
Trans athlete debate is a ‘moral’ freak out, author says. It’s time to listen to trans athletes.
Behind the recent drama over the WNBA and trans inclusion, author and self-described hardcore Minnesota Lynx fan Ellie Roscher says the voices the book she co-wrote this year sought to bring to the front need to be heard even more now. “We are putting so much time and money and energy into the wrong thing,” Roscher told Outsports in a recent interview. “It’s taking our focus off of the real work that we should be doing to make sports safer and more equitable for everybody.
There will be 68 male cheerleaders in the NFL this season, a sign that the guys are here to stay
Male cheerleaders in the NFL are here to stay and 2026 proves it, with 68 men being either cheerleaders who also dance or stunt team members. This is down three men from 71 in the 2025 season, which is statistically insignificant. All 11 teams with male cheerleaders have them again this season, while 13 teams feature only women.
Carlos Alcaraz roars back with a nipple reveal and a victory at the U.S. Open
With Jannik Sinner missing this year’s U.S. Open due to injury and Novak Djokovic getting ousted in a surprise first-round upset, tennis needs a men’s star more than ever. Thankfully, the biggest name of them all is back. Carlos Alcaraz has returned to New York after missing Wimbledon and the French Open, and it was a roaring success during his first match. Alcaraz looked like himself in a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Russian player Roman Safiullin on Monday afternoon.
The top storylines for gay tennis fans as the U.S. Open begins its two weeks of drama
Tennis players are ready for the U.S. Open, the year’s final grand slam tournament. Players have shown up in New York eager for major redemption. So who will shine under the lights? And what do queer tennis fans need to look out for? We break down five storylines every queer tennis fan needs to know about the steamy, drama-filled U.S. Open in New York City, where singles play started Sunday. Jannik Sinner has officially withdrawn from the US Open with a knee injury.
Transgender college athlete finds support from teammates, coaches and opponents after transitioning
As far back as Carter Van Zanten can remember, sports have been a part of his life. Both of his parents were athletes and they often joked that he was “born with running shoes on.” Growing up in the Southern California coastal town of Dana Point, Van Zanten spent his childhood playing goaltender in soccer leagues. Then when he entered sixth grade, he decided to try shot put during his middle school’s Olympics competition. Instantly, something clicked. “I just kind of fell in love with it.
2,208-1. SF Giants make team history with worst 9th-inning collapse ever.
The 2026 woes of the San Francisco Giants seem to have no bounds. That continued last night as the team committed its worst ninth-inning collapse in franchise history. The Giants had been 2,208-0 when entering the ninth inning with a lead of six or more runs, according to MLB.com. They’re now 2,208-1.
Rugby, Pride and budgy smugglers: The best photos from the Bingham Cup
The 12th edition of the biennial Bingham Cup, held in Brisbane, Australia, delivered four days of outstanding LGBTQ inclusive rugby, camaraderie, and celebration. Bringing together players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and supporters from every corner of the globe, the tournament once again proved to be a powerful display of community that captured the unique spirit of the International Gay Rugby (IGR) family.
USWNT star Mandy McGlynn, dating her teammate, says coming out was ‘joyous’
U.S. women’s national soccer team star Mandy McGlynn has encouraged anyone who is struggling with the challenge of coming out to “choose happiness” by putting themselves first. The 27-year-old goalkeeper has established herself as one of the USWNT’s best shot-stoppers since joining the Utah Royals for the start of the 2024 season. McGlynn made NWSL history in January last year when she signed what was then the longest active contract in the league’s history.
WNBA anti-fans mad about new nonbinary mascot. Have they met the Stanford Tree?
WNBA anti-fans are riled up because the league’s newest team — the Toronto Tempo — has unveiled its mascots, and those include a nonbinary turtle. Forget the idea of a turtle — one of the slowest animals on earth — being named a mascot for a team in basketball, one of the fastest-paced sports. Though the irony of a mascot for the “Tempo” being a turtle is pretty fun. Instead, what’s the issue?
Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd reveal how their relationship began: ‘We felt a spark’
The fervor surrounding the relationship between Dallas Wings guards Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd has subsided as their first WNBA season together as teammates has unfolded. The two former UConn stars played key roles in the team’s 2026 turnaround, with the Wings currently holding the final playoff spot with eight games left to play.
‘I’m tougher and more confident since signing up for my trans rugby team’
When I first responded to a post by the Transmanian Devils rugby team on Instagram, I had no idea what I’d be getting myself into. I was fresh out of moving home in the U.K., and without the university social network that many young people rely on, I found myself with a small social circle. I was looking for connection. Rugby, I assumed, couldn’t be that hard. It turns out the sport was more complicated than I thought. That was August 2023.
The Chicago White Sox unveiled the gayest MLB uniform ever 50 years ago
Welcome back to Talkin’ Gaysball where we’ve always believed Chris Sale took scissors to the wrong part of the uniform. Baseball pants are a miracle of aesthetic design. For evidence of this, I need only submit three words: The Big Dumper. As Your Friendly Neighborhood Baseball Gay, though, I’ve always had the sense that there was more there to be unlocked.
Running back is somewhat of a thankless offensive position compared to quarterback and wide receiver. Teams treat running backs like they’re entirely replaceable; look no further than the Seattle Seahawks letting Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker go to Kansas City. That doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate the running backs that make us turn out heads every Sunday. These are the fantastic running backs that are a joy to watch and handsome to boot and can help win your fantasy league. 2024 was fun..
Sophie Cunningham said trans women don’t belong in female sports. She wants media to move on.
Sophie Cunningham wants you to know that the consequences of her actions are really becoming a distraction. After her anti-trans comments propelled her to national notoriety as a new face of transphobia in women’s sports, Cunningham complained to the media yesterday that all they ever write about are the answers she gave to the questions they asked her.
NFL fantasy watch: These running backs are easy on the eyes and threats on the field

This gay Steelers fan won’t cheer for Aaron Rodgers because of Anthony Fauci
I’ve been a Pittsburgh Steelers fan for more than 50 years. I was 8 when I was awestruck by Franco Harris’s Immaculate Reception. I was 10 when they won Super Bowl IX. I haven’t lived in Pittsburgh in four decades, but every Sunday during football season still revolves around the black and gold. That’s why writing this hurts. If Aaron Rodgers doesn’t apologize for his comments about Dr. Anthony Fauci, I don’t know how I can root for my team’s quarterback.
What’s missing from the renewed debate over trans athletes? The voices of trans people.
Last week I was in San Antonio as an American Women’s Football League Northeast Conference All-Pro selection at defensive end, putting my hand in the dirt to rush the quarterback during the league’s All-Pro Game. In between keeping cool, staying hydrated and checking in on the epic StudBudz coverage of that other all-star game over that weekend, I had a thought: This day is something I wish the “shut up and play ball” types would see.
These tight ends will turn heads heading into the 2026 NFL season
Tight end is one of the most confusing positions in the NFL. Sometimes the tight end turns into one of the biggest stars of a team, like Travis Kelce and Rob Gronkowski. Other times the position is an unheralded one that includes blocking and doing whatever it takes to win in the margins. They’re also usually tall, muscular, and nice to look at. These are the tight ends that stand out on the field for their skills and their physiques as the 2026 NFL season begins with training camp and preseason.
From Banana Ball to the WPBL, these out athletes are changing the baseball landscape
Women’s professional baseball makes its comeback next month when the Women’s Pro Baseball League kicks off its inaugural season on Aug. 1. The current landscape of professional women’s sports positions the new league in a great spot to gain attention and build a sustainable landscape for women to build careers in baseball. And, like every other major women’s sports league, the WPBL boasts a bevy of out LGBTQ players that add further representation at its very foundation.
From the orange carpet to the court, the 2026 WNBA All-Star weekend was gay in all the right ways
A record crowd of 19,783 showed up and kept the United Center in Chicago popping as the 2026 WNBA All-Star weekend made headlines. The gayest WNBA All-Star game of them all filled the stadium and Chicago with pride. The Studbudz, consisting of the dynamic out LGBTQ duo of Natisha Hiedeman of the Seattle Storm and Courtney Williams of the Minnesota Lynx, made their triumphant return in their 72-hour livestream broadcast, one of the weekend’s highlights.
The NFL quarterbacks who belong on your fantasy team — and in your fantasies
NFL training camps begin for all teams this week for the season that starts Sept. 9. While sports fans had a nice detour with the other type of football during this summer’s World Cup, the gridiron is where Americans truly want to be when the calendar turns to August. As usual, a new season means it’s time to start drafting your fantasy team, thinking about whether your real squad is a Super Bowl contender, and fantasizing about which NFL quarterback would be a good husband material.
InstaJocks: Pumping up pecs and reflecting on a great physique
This week on InstaJocks, James Christian cheered, Adam Rippon doggy DILFed, Zack Taylor reflected on his physique, and more. James Christian LeGette Ra-Ra-Ra’ed for FIFA. Adam Rippon had a Doggie Daddy Day Afternoon. Zack Taylor reflected on his gains (and gutters). Trey Miguel pumped up his pecs. Lewis Gibson Kiki’ed with his bestie. Sam Cushing served lewks. Daithi Stig leaped into his 40’s. Amini Fonua popped a squat and broke a sweat. Alex Di Giorgio sounded his entire day.
Caleb Williams kept painting his nails despite the hate. Now he’s on the Madden NFL cover.
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has had three careers’ worth of narratives in only a half-decade’s time. He was one of the most-anticipated prospects in NFL history coming out of USC. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears with the first overall pick in 2024 and had a disappointing rookie season that got him labeled as a bust. The franchise didn’t give up on him, though, and knew that a coaching change would do a world of good.
She listens to 150 Giants games a year. After Pride Night, she wrote the team two letters.
This is part of Outsports’ series of “Dear Giants” letters written by San Francisco Giants fans and sent to the team after their mishandling of this season’s Pride Night, with Bible verses written on Pride caps by three players intending to send an anti-gay message during Pride Night. Kirsten is a diehard San Francisco Giants fan. While she attends only a couple home games each season — she lives in Sacramento — she listens to about 150 games on KNBR each year. That’s almost every Giants game.
