North Dakota man sentenced to 20 years for fentanyl-related death

On April 21, 2023, Cody Enger lost his life to accidental fatal fentanyl poisoning. Enger’s life of just 26 years, was cut short due to the actions of Jake Noland Northern. Northern pleaded guilty in U.S. Federal Court in St. Paul on June 17, 2026 to a charge of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. For his crime, Northern was sentenced to 240 months’ imprisonment.

Washington nonsense

Once again, our elected bodies in Washington D.C. appear to be putting party and political self-interest ahead of what’s in the best interests of the majority of everyday Americans. The lack of Congressional movement to find a funding solution for the Department of Homeland Security, specifically the TSA employees, is nonsensical. This shouldn’t be a tough issue.

The year 2025 appears to be going into the history books as the year of fraud revelations in the state of Minnesota. I hope now that 2026 will go into history as the year of accountability. Whether it’s state or federal, we all send gobs of our hard-earned money to St. Paul or Washington D.C through a host of taxes and/or fees.
