It’s back to the drawing board for the Pequea Valley football team after just missing out on a breakthrough Friday night in a 13-6 loss to Hanover on Friday night in Kinzers in nonleague action. After failing to score in its first two games plus the first half of Friday’s game, Pequea Valley (0-3) finally broke through on a 32-yard dash by Orlando Stoltzfus to cut the deficit to 7-6. Hanover (1-2), however, answered by punching in a late touchdown to extend its lead with 5:16 to go in the game.

Nick Good? More like Nick Great. Manheim Township’s do-everything junior scored three first-half touchdowns — two on pass receptions from quarterback Hayden Johnson and another on a 9-yard rush as the Streaks bounced back from a tough loss in the season opener with a 40-0 victory over Dallastown on Friday night in Neffsville. The victory evened Township’s record at 1-1 and sent Dallastown to 0-2 in the early going. Turning point This one turned early.

Columbia stumbles in chippy final game at Pine Grove

PINE GROVE — In the most extraordinary of football seasons, Columbia's football team had the oddest of endings to its 2020 campaign. Trailing by three touchdowns and a safety late in the fourth quarter and Pine Grove continuing to move the ball at will on offense, the action after the whistle became a little more intense than the action when the clock was moving. Three straight plays ended with pushing, shoving and a gathering of all the players as the officials struggled to maintain control.

What was your first job as a journalist?

I worked in the composing department of the Lancaster Newspapers. I laid out and pasted up the paper. Also, I was a paperboy in 1982.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. I had several when I was younger and even took a late-20th Century one to college and used it all the way through.

How is social media changing news?

Some have mastered social media to the point that others are unfamiliar with their actual work. They are just known for social media.
