How agencies can bolster cyber infiltration, 'exfiltration' defenses Original
Data infiltration, such as hacking, and "exfiltration," or the unauthorized transfer of information. continue to be two of the biggest cyber threats faced by the defense sector today, as evidenced by a recent joint FBI, National Security Agency, and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency report. So-called zero-day attacks are especially detrimental because organizations are unaware of the vulnerability prior to the attack and therefore have zero days to address or patch the flaw.
Organizations Should Break into Their Own Networks
By John Meyer, Arcfield VP, Cyber Products and Services With talent and resources stretched thin, organizations may not have the personnel or bandwidth to uncover where vulnerabilities lie in their networks, and if they do, the information is dynamic and could soon be dated. Bad actors are working overtime to stay ahead of the curve, innovating new ways to avoid safeguards, breach networks, and exfiltrate critical data.

What Cannot Be Taught: Allegations of Failure to Train Common Sense
Employers across numerous industries contend with claims of negligence in dozens of forms imputed to them through the conduct of those alleged to have “agent” or employee status. A primary branch of imputed liability to employers, or those alleged to be employers, is the doctrine of vicarious liability, also known as respondeat superior. Such liability is premised upon the idea that “the employee is the agent or, ‘arm’ of the employer.” G.A.-H v. K.G.G., 238 N.J. 401, 415 (2019) (citation omitted).
The way I see it
Normally I am a very private person, reluctant to bare my soul or discuss in detail areas of my existence which are to me – well – private. There are situations which, even though you choose to keep them closely guarded, may be of benefit to another who is experiencing or has experienced the same situation. This is the case for which I write about today. As some of you know, Cheryl and I moved to Bartow, Florida in July and August of 2020.
Employers, Background Checks, and Negligent Hiring: A Right to Legal Erasure
Employers involved in an ever-evolving process of vetting potential employees may be faced with the question of what they are to do in the face of a potential candidate whose records were expunged, but nonetheless whose previous criminal records were disclosed in one form or another to the employer? When vetting potential employees, employers use a plethora of means to discover the aptitude of particular candidates, and the potential business risk the candidate may pose.
Mobile App Marketing - business.com
Ecommerce is a way of life for countless millions of individuals across the globe. Attribute its meteoric rise to technological advancements, society’s obsession with consumerism, or simply mankind’s aversion to do anything these days not controlled by a handheld device. Taken individually or as a trio of causative factors, there is no denying the magnitude of digital commerce and the impact of mobile app marketing.

Hodges 2020 2021 graduations filled with honors, highlights john meyer
Dr. John Meyer On June 20, Hodges University administrators, faculty, staff, and students gathered at Hertz Arena to celebrate our 31st and 32nd Commencement Ceremony. This was the day we honored the graduates of the Classes of 2020 and 2021. In my higher education career, I’ve never had two classes graduate in a single ceremony, but times do change, and the pandemic necessitated delaying the actual ceremony for the class of 2020.

Colorado land managers struggling with dog owners leaving bags of dog poop behind
John Meyer The Denver Post DENVER — Mary Ann Bonnell spends a lot of time studying animal and human behavior as the visitor services manager for Jefferson County Open Space. Animal behavior can be a lot easier to understand. And few things baffle her more — among all of the weird things in a park system that attracts 7 million people a year — than when people leave bags filled with dog poop along trails for someone else to pick up.

Five Ways to Use Advanced Analytics to Drive Revenue
John Meyer April 14, 2021 Financial institutions should make data analytics a key component of their revenue growth strategies. In 2020, almost all financial institutions saw record growth in Small Business Administration lending with the Paycheck Protection Program, mortgage origination and home equity loans, and deposits. A slowdown in that momentum is already evident in 2021, especially with more traditional lending and interchange revenue. So what?
Guest opinion: Hodges University and Goodwill partnership a first for Florida
Dr. John Meyer and John Nadeau Some of the best ideas are born out of necessity. Others are from inspiration or an unlikely alliance. At first glance, it may seem that Hodges University and Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida wouldn’t have much in common. However, a few conversations led to the realization that there is plenty of common ground. With both organizations working together, we can better address the workforce training needs in our region.
Avalanche search teams discuss emotional stress, trauma
DENVER (AP) - The memory of a rescue mission a decade ago still haunts Charles Pitman. Recalling the image of a father and uncle praying on a mountainside for a boy of 10 or 11 while rescuers performed CPR on him, Pitman paused to gather himself, tears in his eyes. It was one of Pitman’s first missions with the Summit County Rescue Group. A family had been snowmobiling on Vail Pass, only a mile or two from where Pitman stood as he described that tragic day.

Letter: Reasons to be outraged
Letter: Reasons to be outraged Reading stories about the plans to spread gas costs out over years to cover the unbelievable — and extortionary — numbers, we have a case for true outrage! A total of $3.4 billion is expected to be paid by the approximately 3.8 million Oklahomans. That works out to just under $1,000 per person in the state. That's nearly $4,000 for a family of four.

The measurement and antecedents of affective, continuance and normative commitment to the organization
PDF ShareShare Abstract Organizational commitment has been conceptualized and measured in various ways. The two studies reported here were conducted to test aspects of a three‐component model of commitment which integrates these various conceptualizations. The affective component of organizational commitment, proposed by the model, refers to employees' emotional attachment to, identification with, and involvement in, the organization.

Managing Commercial Real Estate in a COVID-Ravaged Landscape
John Meyer April 23, 2020 Financial institutions struggling with the SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program can expect an even rougher road in the aftermath of COVID-19. Employee commitment before and after an economic crisis: A stringent test of profile similarity
It has long been recognized that employees can experience commitment to their organizations in different ways. According to the three-component model (TCM: Allen and Meyer, 1990; Meyer and Allen, 1991), commitment can be characterized by three distinct mindsets: a desire to remain with the organization (affective commitment: AC), an obligation to remain (normative commitment: NC), and the perceived cost of leaving (continuance commitment: CC).
