Virginia Political Economy was born in the foyer of the Social Science Building at the University of Chicago early in 1948. In a casual conversation with a fellow graduate student, Warren Nutter, I discovered that we shared an evaluation and diagnosis of developments in Economics, the discipline with which we were about to become associated as licensed practitioners.

In many corners of the world, the adoption of cashless transactions has been slow and met with varying levels of acceptance. In spite of the transparency, efficiency and security of digital payments, it seems that some still feel there’s comfort to be had from having a stash of cash stored under the bed for a rainy day. Kristen Rae Bowden is an actress, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist originally from Boone, North Carolina. In 2008 she graduated from Elon University with a BFA in and Acting and a BFA in Musical Theatre. She also completed a summer acting intensive at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. After college Kristen worked in regional theatre, playing a variety of roles including Audrey in "Little Shop of Horrors" and Corrie in "Barefoot in the Park".
