Shortly after being named an All-State shortstop by the Minnesota High School Baseball Coaches’ Association, Minnetonka’s Garrett Wheeler left to start the next chapter in his career. He is playing summer baseball out of state as he prepares for his freshman season at New Mexico State University. Wheeler had always hoped he would be able to play NCAA Division I baseball and considers the opportunity at a southern school “a plus.” “I love being outside,” Wheeler said.

Lacrosse scores soar with star players excelling

Four teams from the Lake Conference played in the 2026 State Girls Lacrosse Tournament at White Bear Lake Area High School, and two of those teams met in the finals with Minnetonka defeating Buffalo 14-10 for the championship. Edina finished fourth at state and Wayzata placed fifth as the consolation title. Prominent scorers emerged for all four of the state teams and they lead the All-Lake Conference selections for the season.
