South Carolina is in the midst of putting together its 2027 baseball roster and, as of the time of this publishing, there are 24 players set to be a part of the squad. There are double-digit players remaining still to sign, but first-year head coach Kevin Schnall and his staff are off to a good start in terms of retaining the players they want and bringing in the ones they wanted from Coastal Carolina. But there are still gaping holes to fill for the 2027 team to be competitive.

Jimenez follows Schnall and staff to South Carolina

A high school player committed to play at Coastal Carolina is following Kevin Schnall to South Carolina. Class of 2027 right-handed pitcher Andres Jimenez (Stone Mountain, Ga./Parkview) announced his commitment to the Gamecocks on Sunday morning, and becomes the first high school pitcher to cast his lot for Schnall at South Carolina. Jimenez is the No. 208 player in the country and is viewed as the best right-handed pitcher in the state of Georgia.
