If you've used Android phones for any length of time, you've probably had to tweak your keyboard's dictionary. Gboard is my trusty typing companion, and over the years, I've corrected it on numerous words it thinks are misspelled. However, while Gboard no longer tries to correct me, Personal Dictionary can do much more. I spent the last few weeks filling out this feature with shortcuts to phrases I frequently use, saving me hours of typing over time.

It's always reassuring to find out you're not the one causing a technical problem. Over the last few weeks, I noticed that I was regularly missing calls on my Pixel phone; I put the problem down to my general lack of awareness. However, after missing a call while I was looking at the phone, I realized I was one of many people with a similar issue. But after tweaking some settings, I've not missed a call since.

Since the RAM crisis kicked off at the start of 2026, we've been anxiously watching phone prices. Price increases are nothing new when it comes to the yearly cycle of Android phones, but there was a chance things could get much worse. We've yet to see the full impact of skyrocketing hardware prices, but early signs aren't looking good. But I'm not worried because, in an era of rising phone prices, I'm still saving money.
