When the Province of Ontario first proposed consolidating the province’s 36 conservation authorities into a smaller number of regional organizations, the board of the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority had concerns. Our principal concern was practical. In particular, we did not believe that Thunder Bay should be included in the same regional structure as conservation authorities serving central and southern Ontario.
