Fraudster found in cupboard after £2,300 spree on pensioner’s bank card

This is the moment a fraudster who used a stolen bank card to splash out on clothes, cigarettes and fast food was found hiding – in a kitchen cupboard. Siobhan Perry and mum Kathlene Perry were arrested after being caught on CCTV going on a splurge in Maidstone, Kent. Police say Kathlene, 61, took the card from a woman in her 90s while pretending to be her carer. A concerned relative discovered the elderly victim had been targeted and alerted the authorities on November 15 last year.

33 Chinese Jaecoo SUVs worth £900k go up in flames at Southampton docks

Thirty-three Jaecoo SUVs worth more than £900,000 have been engulfed in a fire at Southampton docks. Firefighters were called at around 4:20am on Wednesday (3/6) to a site on West Bay Road after locals reported “explosions”. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service said 33 hybrid vehicles were involved. The cars are believed to be E5s from the Chinese brand Jaecoo – prices for which start from £27,505. Pictures show a number of vehicles with significant damage – with some completely gutted.

Machine learning in automatic detection of chordoma signature, postoperative residuals, and prognosis of skull base chordomas

Abstract Skull base chordomas are rare, locally invasive tumors that remain a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. We developed a machine-learning (ML) radiomics model to (i) distinguish chordoma from chondrosarcoma and skull base background, (ii) differentiate true postoperative residual tumor from treatment-related changes, and (iii) predict 2-year progression-free survival (PFS). In this retrospective, dual-center study, 61 patients underwent surgery between 1998 and 2023.
