Time-of-flight neutron radiography for differentiating ice and water during phase transitions in natural porous media
Abstract Measurement of coexistent liquid water and ice distributions is useful for many materials and systems such as fuel cells, concrete, snow, and soil. Energy-resolved neutron imaging is a promising technique for these measurements by exploiting differences in neutron cross-section between ice and water at cold neutron energies. Until now, energy-resolved neutron imaging techniques have only been used with relatively thin and non-natural samples.
A multi objective framework with an interactive dashboard for cost optimal infectious disease management
Abstract During an infectious disease outbreak, policymakers face the critical challenge of balancing the healthcare burden with the socioeconomic consequences of social distancing. To facilitate this complex decision-making process, we developed an integrated framework that combines multi-objective optimization, economic evaluation, and an interactive dashboard. This dashboard allows stakeholders to input dynamic cost parameters and immediately derive cost-optimal intervention strategies.
Reading the Fog: Real-Time LiDAR-Based Detection Range Estimation for Autonomous Vehicles in Adverse Weather
This version is not peer-reviewed. You are already at the latest version Detecting objects with LiDAR in fog has long been treated as a noise-removal problem: identify the fog returns and throw them away. This work takes the opposite view. The same fog returns that other methods discard are read as a direct measurement of how far the sensor can still see.

Evidence for abstract codes in parietal cortex guiding prospective working memory
Abstract The recent past helps us predict and prepare for the near future. Such preparation relies on working memory (WM) which actively maintains and manipulates information providing a temporal bridge. Numerous studies have shown that recently presented visual stimuli can be decoded from fMRI signals in visual cortex (VC) and the intra-parietal sulcus (IPS) suggesting that these areas sustain the recent past.
Alkylammonium passivation for 2D tin halide perovskite field-effect transistors
Alkylammonium passivation for 2D tin halide perovskite field-effect transistors Tin (Sn) halide perovskites have shown significant potential as channels for field-effect transistors (FETs) due to their low effective mass, reduced Fröhlich interaction, as well as lead-free composition, a requirement for electronic components. However, their inherent instability has limited their practical application.
Direct binding of arsenicals to nuclear transport factors disrupts nucleocytoplasmic transport
Abstract Human exposure to arsenicals is associated with devastating diseases such as cancer and neurodegeneration. At the same time, arsenic-based drugs are used as therapeutic agents. The ability of arsenic to directly bind to proteins is correlated with its toxic and therapeutic effects highlighting the importance of elucidating arsenic-protein interactions. In this study, we took a proteomic approach and identified 174 proteins that bind to arsenic in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Real‐time reconstruction of pipes using RGB‐D cameras
Abstract This paper presents a novel method that automatically reconstructs pipes in real time using an RGB-D camera. The input image is decomposed into superpixels, and a pipe element, which is a 3D circle lying on the pipe surface, is generated for each superpixel. Over frames, the pipe elements are grouped into sequences and are finally modeled in parametric equations. The method is tested in daily settings, where the pipes may be curved and their radii may vary along the axes.
