In Philipp v Barclays Bank UK PLC1, the UK Supreme Court has given unanimous judgment in favour of Barclays Bank, and provided clear guidance on the so-called ‘Quincecare duty’ owed by banks to their customers. White & Case acted for UK Finance, the collective voice for the UK’s banking and finance industry, as intervener in the proceedings. Helen McHale, Chief Executive of Stockport Homes Group has again this year been named within the 50 most influential people in UK housing by 24Housing magazine in its annual ‘Power Players’ list. The Chief Executive was praised by the magazine for the transformation of Stockport Homes into the new group structure, including the organisations purpose build HQ and development arm.

The nights pageant started with the Jr Miss competition and western wear category. The contestants showed their western wear with flare and despite some minor technical difficulties handled themselves with poise. The talent portion of the competition impressed as the girls demonstrated a wide variety of skills ranging from song, dance, art, cheerleading, and ribbon gymnastics. With an eclectic group of talents the judges seemed impressed with the diversity of area teens.
