DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)– Saturday will be our last day under a flash flood threat before we see a temporary break from severe weather. The remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur are not moving offshore, so conditions are expected to improve after Saturday. Tonight, I have us in the 70s, and rain chances will be low until daybreak. Once the sun comes up, rain chances will begin to rise in Southeast Alabama.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)– We saw a few spin-up tornadoes tomorrow, but scattered to widespread flash flooding could also be possible tomorrow. The WPC (Weather Prediction Center) put us under a level 3 ‘Moderate Risk’ of flash flooding. Widespread rainfall totals are expected to be between 3 and 6 inches, but there is a possibility of isolated totals between 8-12 inches. If this does occur, considerable to life-threatening flash flooding could happen.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)– Tropical Storm Arthur has formed, and the Wiregrass will have to deal with a multitude of impacts from this system. Currently, we are under a Flood Watch for Thursday and Friday, as we could see the potential for 4-8 inches of rain to fall across the area. As a result, the WPC (Weather Prediction Center) has also placed us under a level 3 ‘Moderate Risk’ of flash flooding for Thursday and Friday. Although flooding will be the main threat, severe weather could also be a problem.
