When I first went hands-on with CONTROL Resonant, I had one major concern going into my three-hour preview session: the combat. Moving away from the ranged combat of the original CONTROL in favor of a much more melee-focused system felt like a significant gamble for Remedy Entertainment, especially when the studio had already created such a satisfying combination of gunplay and supernatural abilities with Jesse Faden.

Marvel’s Wolverine has been one of my most anticipated games ever since Insomniac Games first revealed it. However, as excited as I was, I also had plenty of questions about whether the studio responsible for Marvel’s Spider-Man could successfully make the jump from Peter Parker and Miles Morales to a character as fundamentally different as Logan.

Thanks to Playside, I recently had the opportunity to play a preview demo of the upcoming real-time strategy game Game of Thrones: War for Westeros. Ever since I first heard that Game of Thrones was getting its own RTS, I was immediately interested. Given what Game of Thrones is at its core, the RTS genre has always felt like a brilliant fit for the franchise. Political alliances, massive battles, distinct factions, and larger-than-life characters all lend themselves perfectly to a strategy game.
