Goudarz Moulaei, an entomologist with the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, said he can routinely collect thousands of ticks within 30 minutes using a "drag," just a piece of cloth attached to a rope that he pulls behind him. But he said you don't need a drag to find hundreds, if not thousands of ticks. "After half an hour, you might collect several hundred, sometimes 800 ticks on yourself," he said.
