Cartoon One Three One Three

An anthropomorphized beet declaims in a bohemian coffee shop: “I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by borscht-chefs, putrid room-temp rancid…” Caption: BEET POETRY. This is a TERRIBLE joke, and I’m sure it’s been made a million times before, but it’s all I’ve got. Also, I like borscht. Greg Hardy comes charging in with this vastly improved one three one two: I overthought/ overwrote the joke. Greg ran right at it, and it’s much cleaner and better. And those boots are spectacular.

Two friends talking. One says: “I used to like to visit the Old Stomping Grounds, until I realized I don’t have any New Stomping Grounds.” Cliches don’t work if you change a letter. If comic books had been this awesome when I was a kid, I would’ve been a maniac: The poison was hidden in his watch. Good for Georgie; he preferred death to ratting on his friends. Draw my comics. Two young men. One is texting on his phone. The other says: “Ask her if she has a friend who likes guys who are sad all the time.” Here’s Jeannine with a wonderful One Three Oh Eight. This is terrific. Jeannine makes the whole convention look really plausible — I think I see Einstein and Alan Moore among the attendees. And the detail of the Monster logo is perfect. Thanks, Jeannine, I love it. Draw my comics. I’ll post them here.
