For 28 years, the San Fernando Valley Business Journal has represented and covered the Valley-area business community like no other media source. I’m excited to announce that the publication format will change from a biweekly newspaper to a bimonthly magazine. The new magazine, branded as Inside the Valley, will be distributed to subscribers starting in March.

On behalf of the Los Angeles Business Journal editors, reporting staff and research department, it’s my privilege to unveil the 2023 edition of the LA500, now in its eighth year. Our team has, once again, taken on the challenging project of researching, identifying and highlighting the most influential, most powerful and most impactful business professionals in the Los Angeles region. This has become one of our favorite issues of the year, and one of the most rewarding.

Recently, the Los Angeles Business Journal lost a member of its family. On June 30, Jimmy Yang passed away unexpectedly. By company title he was our Advertising & Business Development Manager. To those who knew him, even for a moment, he was so much more. He was a friend, a husband, a rugby teammate, a foodie and someone who loved to celebrate the smallest of moments. I had the privilege of calling Jimmy Yang a close friend for nearly 25 years. We grew up in this industry together, so to speak.
