Toronto police will be increasing rush-hour traffic enforcement downtown with a three-month campaign starting on Monday. Officers will be heightening enforcement of the Highway Traffic Act and City of Toronto bylaw offences, Toronto Police Service (TPS) said in a news release, adding the parking enforcement and traffic services units are looking to reduce congestion and keep vehicles moving.

More than 1200 tons of salt used to help keep North Lincolnshire roads safe

Last week saw our winter service team battle with the consistent freezing temperatures, which in some areas reached as low as -8 degrees. Our fleet of 10 gritters – that are on standby 24-hours a day, seven days a week – took to the roads to help keep motorists safe every day throughout the week and will continue to do so as long as is needed. In excess of 1,200 tons of salt was used on precautionary routes, secondary routes, critical assets and salt bin replenishment.
