With a decade-plus experience in broadcasting, Joshua Bolden has been a reporter, anchor and producer for WVVA based in Bluefield, WV for seven years.

Starting as a one-man-band in June of 2016 covering general assignment stories across nine counties before being promoted to weekend anchor in 2017.

In January 2018 he began his role as co-anchor of WVVA Today and solo anchor & producer of the award-winning WVVA News @ Noon.

He spent several years as a radio news anchor at AM1480 WBBP (2011-2015)…

SUMMERS COUNTY, W.Va. (WVVA) - A man is facing multiple charges after making threatening statements toward an officer of the law. According to the Summers County Sheriff’s Office, that man is Tommy Prater. All of this began on Monday, July 6, 2026 when Sgt. Ward responded to the report of a suspicious person along Route 20 in the area of Bluestone Lake Ward finding a white Ford Ranger and making contact with the driver, Tommy Prater, upon arrival.

One of Tazewell County’s own is laying down the badge after more than three decades of serving Southwest Virginia. The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office sharing on its socials that after 35 years in law enforcement, Captain Chuck McNerlin is looking to his next chapter. McNerlin retired on Monday, June 29th, according to socials.

Margaret Fowler ran the establishment for ten years, following two decades of cooking in the kitchen at New Graham Pharmacy before branching out on her own. During that time she served up breakfast, lunch and dinner for those who walked into 504 Virginia Avenue.
