The FDA has approved a new treatment called Tregzi. It uses a special kind of immune cell called a regulatory T cell, or Treg. Tregzi is for adults with certain high-risk blood cancers who are getting a stem cell transplant from a donor. It is the first treatment to use Treg cells and stem cells from a closely matched donor together. The goal is to help the transplant go well while lowering the risk of a problem called chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).

Parsol Shield (bemotrizinol) is a sunscreen active ingredient that helps protect your skin from ultraviolet A (UVA) and ultraviolet B (UVB) rays. The FDA has now allowed its use in over-the-counter (OTC) sunscreens sold in the U.S. and has designated bemotrizinol as generally recognized as safe and effective (GRASE) for use in sunscreens for adults and children aged 6 months of age and older.

Otarmeni (lunsotogene parvec-cwha) is a single-use gene therapy for children and adults who have severe or profound hearing loss (a hearing level of more than 90 decibels) caused by confirmed changes in the OTOF gene. But for Otarmeni to work well, it is important that the affected ear has functionally intact outer hair cells and no prior cochlear implant. Genetic causes account for about half of cases of hearing loss present at birth.
