Be persistent and patient.

Working as an editor at a small business magazine I once received a pitch from a large chewing gum manufacturer about one of its new products

For chewing gum while working at a business magazine.

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Pacing.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That writers covering ethics are more judgmental than those who don't.
