Fine droplet misting and stage-specific nutrient formulation enhance bed-area biomass productivity and nutrient solution use efficiency in closed-loop aeroponic Centella asiatica
Abstract Closed-loop aeroponics exposes suspended roots to repeated pulses of nutrient solution and humid air, so nozzle and misting settings shape the root-zone water, nutrient, and gas environment. We evaluated how root-zone droplet delivery and stage-specific ion management affected growth and nutrient solution-use efficiency of Centella asiatica in a natural-light greenhouse.
Translational rehabilitation strategies for canine medial patellar luxation: insights from human patellofemoral pain syndrome
Abstract Medial patellar luxation (MPL) is one of the most common orthopedic disorders in small-breed dogs and is associated with progressive joint degeneration, gait abnormalities, and long-term functional impairment. Despite its high prevalence, current treatment strategies remain primarily focused on structural correction, whereas rehabilitation approaches targeting dynamic patellar stability and functional recovery remain insufficiently established.

Comparison of growth hormone therapy response according to the presence of growth hormone deficiency in children born small for gestational age with short stature in Korea: a retrospective cohort study | BMC Pediatrics | Full Text
Most children born SGA achieve catch-up growth within 4 or more years. Up to 90% of children born SGA experiences acceleration of linear growth during the first 12 months of life, reaching a height of -2 SDS or more within 2 years of birth; however, those who fail to achieve catch-up growth may be eligible for GH therapy regardless of GHD.

The longitudinal analysis for the association between smoking and the risk of depressive symptoms - BMC Psychiatry Original
Relevant clinical and sociodemographic data were obtained from Kangbuk Samsung Health Study (KSHS). KSHS is a cohort study to investigate the medical data of Koreans who have received medical health check-up in Kangbuk Samsung Hospital. Korea’s Industrial Safety and Health law orders that all of Korean employees should receive medical health check-up annually or biennially. Owing to low smoking rate in women, we included only men in study participants.
The roles of health literacy and social support in the association between smartphone ownership and frailty in older adults: a moderated mediation model | BMC Public Health | Full Text
A smartphone is a mobile phone that combines the functionalities of a computer, featuring a touchscreen interface, internet access, and an operating system capable of running applications [1]. The global penetration rate of smartphones reached 78.1% in 2020, dramatically increasing from 49.4% over 5 years [2]. A substantial rise was noticed even among older adults, who were initially trailing behind the younger generations in smartphone adoption.
Discovery of a novel potent EGFR inhibitor against EGFR activating mutations and on-target resistance in NSCLC
Purpose: Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) serve as the standard first-line therapy for EGFR-mutated non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Despite the sustained clinical benefits achieved through optimal EGFR-TKI treatments, including the third-generation EGFR-TKI osimertinib, resistance inevitably develops. Currently, there are no targeted therapeutic options available post-progression on osimertinib.
The Effect of 3-Dimensional–Printed Sequential Dual Drug–Releasing Patch on the Capsule Formation Around the Silicone Implant in a Rat Model
Implant-based breast reconstruction is associated with increased risk of early infection and late-stage capsular contracture. We evaluated the feasibility of a dual drug–releasing patch that enabled the controlled delivery of antibiotics and immunosuppressants in a temporally and spatially appropriate manner to the implant site.
Role of oxygen vacancies in ferroelectric or resistive switching hafnium oxide - Nano Convergence
The advantages of HfO2, which include its CMOS compatibility, low process temperature, high-k dielectric property, and process scalability, were extensively discussed and demonstrated in the literature [146]. Functional rehabilitation of the maxillary sinus after modified endoscopic sinus surgery for displaced dental implants
International Journal of Implant Dentistry, Sep 2023 Dental implants may become displaced into the maxillary sinus due to insufficient primary stability, changes in nasal air pressure, or surrounding bone resorption and should be removed as soon as possible. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of the modified endoscopic sinus surgery (MESS) approach for removal of displaced dental implants.
Frontiers | Distribution of corpora amylacea in the human midbrain: using synchrotron radiation phase-contrast microtomography, high-field magnetic resonance imaging, and histology
1. Introduction Corpora amylacea (CA) are polyglucosan aggregates that tend to accumulate in several organs throughout aging (Cavanagh, 1999; Pirici and Margaritescu, 2014; Riba et al., 2021). In the human central nervous system, these granules are found close to ventricular walls, pial surfaces, and blood vessels.

A microphysiological model of human trophoblast invasion during implantation - Nature Communications
Abstract Successful establishment of pregnancy requires adhesion of an embryo to the endometrium and subsequent invasion into the maternal tissue. Abnormalities in this critical process of implantation and placentation lead to many pregnancy complications. Here we present a microenigneered system to model a complex sequence of orchestrated multicellular events that plays an essential role in early pregnancy.

Preferences and concerns for care needs in advanced Parkinson's disease: a qualitative study of couples
To explore how couples with Parkinson's disease discuss their needs, concerns and preferences at the advanced stages of illness. The majority of care for people with Parkinson's disease is provided at home by family members. Parkinson's disease is characterised by a slow progressive decline with care needs often exceeding a decade. Data were collected on two occasions over a one-month period using semi-structured interviews, with both individual and couple interviews.
