A brother and sister from Bondi, who were two of the first people on the ground to help the victims of Sunday’s massacre, are questioning “how could it get to this”. David Smith, 24, and Mimi Smith, 26, raced to the scene at Bondi Beach, as two gunmen opened fire on a crowd of people celebrating at the Chanukah by the Sea festival. It has since been revealed the terrorist attack, targeting the Jewish community, was carried out by a father and son duo.
