NEIGHBORHOOD POLITICS--The Los Angeles City Council today unanimously passed a motion to review SoCalGas’s permit to operate the Playa Del Rey Gas Storage Facility located in the Ballona Wetlands. Councilmember Mike Bonin introduced the motion after infrared video showed gas escaping from the gas field. The facility has been operating on an outdated City Planning Permit since 1955 and is located near homes, schools and LAX.
